Adam L. Woods, Co-founder
Adam L. Woods is Co-Founder, Chief Investment Officer, and Senior Financial Advisor of Cedar Mountain Advisors, LLC. Mr. Woods responsibilities include leading, facilitating and organizing the work of the firm’s investment management committee. With 23 years of experience as a securities analyst, portfolio manager and professional advisor, he currently works to coordinate and direct the efforts of the firm’s other analysts and advisors in a collaborative team approach.
Additionally, Adam provides specialized financial planning and advisory services to his corporate and individual clients. These professional relationships span the scope of financial planning and wealth management services designed to meet the individual needs of his diverse client base. Mr. Woods’ goal is to be an advocate for his clients through education and consultation to develop personalized wealth management strategies.
Prior to co-founding Cedar Mountain Advisors, Adam served five years as Investment Specialist and Senior Financial Planner at New England Financial. As an Investment Specialist, he was responsible for supervising and managing the firm’s investment and fee-based financial planning businesses, assisting in sophisticated joint casework, and providing advisor training.
Previously to joining New England, Adam served in the positions of Director of Research, and Portfolio Manager at the H Group, Inc. His responsibilities included co-managing the firm’s discretionary portfolios, performing on-going institutional level analysis as well as advisor education. He began his investment career with Portland-based M/P Advisory, Inc. in 1993, where he began his investment career as a securities analyst.
Adam graduated from Oregon State University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. Adam lives with Elizabeth his wife of 23 years and their two children Madeline and Samuel in Beaverton. He and his family enjoy many outdoor activities including spending time on their family’s century farm, which Adam and his brother Aaron now own.
Bradley D. Patrick, Co-Founder CLU, ChFC
Bradley (“Brad”) D. Patrick is the Co-Founder and a Managing Partner of Cedar Mountain Advisors, founded in 2006. Brad provides comprehensive financial planning resources to both high net worth individuals and corporate clients with a focus on providing solutions that both minimize taxes and increase net worth. In addition, he provides personalized fee-based planning in the areas of asset management, retirement, education, and estate planning.
Brad began his career in financial services in 1991 with a large financial services firm in Portland, Oregon. He spent 15 years with that firm prior to co-founding Cedar Mountain Advisors. Brad holds the designations of Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). These professional designations were earned through The American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Brad is a member of the Portland Society of Financial Services Professionals and has also served on its Board.
Brad graduated from Oregon State University in 1991 with a Bachelor in Business Administration.
Brad and his wife Gina reside in Damascus with their two sons and a daughter. Brad enjoys playing golf, coaching high-school basketball, and spending time with his family.
Daniel J. Nance CFP®
Daniel (Dan) J. Nance is a Senior Financial Advisor and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) of Cedar Mountain Advisors. Dan specializes in providing comprehensive financial planning and advisory services to individual and corporate clients. The financial planning services he provides include investment management, retirement planning, estate, education, business continuation and executive benefits consulting.
Dan’s background encompasses over 20 years as a financial advisor having gained experience with John Hancock Financial Services and New England Financial prior to joining Cedar Mountain Advisors, LLC. Dan earned his designation as a CFP from The American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
Daniel graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Linfield College.
Dan and his wife Heathyr have 3 children and live in West Linn. Dan enjoys running, coaching youth sports and spending time with his family.
Rick Rogers CFP®, CRPC
Rick Rogers, CFP®, CRPC, is a Senior Financial Advisor with Cedar Mountain Advisors. He brings nearly 20 years of experience in the financial industry with expertise in providing personalized advice, asset management and analytical skills to customize individual planning and wealth management approaches to the varied needs of his clients. Recent accolades include being named a Five-Star Wealth Manager in Portland Monthly Magazine every year since 2012. This award is given to less than 7% of wealth managers in the area.
As a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC), Rick is able to apply his education and proficiency to provide details that extend far beyond the investment process. The results are innovative strategies that help clients manage their financial health while they navigate both expected and unexpected life changes. Through detailed conversations and deep relationships, Rick excels in taking the time necessary to understand your needs, desires and concerns in order to reach the solutions that fit you while creating your plan designed to guide you to your specific goals.
Rick graduated with honors from Oregon State University in 1991. In his personal time, Rick volunteers for the non-profit educational speaker’s bureau, Society for Financial Awareness, and is very active in youth sports by serving on the board of Lincoln Youth Baseball and Softball. Married and a father of two young boys – Rick understands the importance of “life-balance” in the busy lives of his clients and the importance of planning and saving hard-earned assets to help provide stability for the present and future.

Todd Smithpeter AIF®
Todd Smithpeter is a Senior Financial Advisor and Director of Retirement Plan Consulting of Cedar Mountain Advisors. Todd provides customized investment advisory services and consultation to Plan Sponsors and individuals. His expertise and knowledge were developed through more than 24 years of experience in the investment advisory, retirement plan and trust operations industries.
Prior to joining Cedar Mountain Todd was formally associated with Standard Investment Advisors where he served as a Senior Investment Advisor as a result of the acquisition of MasterPlan Advisors where he served as Director of Investment Advisory Services. Prior to this position, Todd served as Vice President and Client Relationship Manager for the SelectBenefit Division of Union Bank of California, as well as the Director of Operations for the Record Keeping Department of Copper Mountain Trust.
Todd is a graduate of Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance, along with a Minor in Economics. Todd holds the Series 7, 63 and 65 Securities License designations and is a Registered Representative. Todd has earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation since 2012.
Todd and his wife, Kathy, have a son and daughter.
Nathan K. Coffey CFP®
Nathan K. Coffey, CFP® is a Financial Advisor and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) at Cedar Mountain Advisors. Nathan specializes in financial planning and investment advisory services as they relate to the taxation of individuals, businesses, estates and trusts.
Nathan graduated from Western Oregon University in 2002 with a BA in International Studies. While earning his BA, Nathan served in the United States Army Reserve from 1999-2002 as a Psychological Operations Specialist. As part of his training with the US Army, Nathan attended the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA completing the rigorous French language program. Nathan’s junior year of college was completed at the University of Poitiers in Poitiers, France.
In 2003, Nathan began work at Tax Matters, Inc., a family owned Portland based tax firm. Nathan now serves as President of Tax Matters, Inc. Nathan is an Oregon Licensed Tax Consultant and is also an Enrolled Agent (EA). EAs are the only federally licensed tax practitioners who specialize in taxation and also have unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS. All tax services to be provided by Tax Matters, Inc.
In 2013, Nathan was asked to join the team of Cedar Mountain Advisors. Nathan’s hope is to provide the most holistic tax and investment service to his clients as possible. Nathan, an investment advisory representative of Cedar Mountain Advisors is series 7 and series 66 licensed. In 2015, he completed the American College’s CFP® program and later that year earned the coveted CFP® mark.
Nathan lives in Southwest Portland with his son Eliott. Nathan enjoys cycling, practicing yoga and spending time with his son.
Joyce Keane
Joyce Keane joined Cedar Mountain Advisors in 2011 providing multiple levels of office, operational, and client support. She is commissioned as a Notary Public.
Previously, Joyce worked as an assistant in a Lake Oswego financial planning firm. Before relocating to Portland, she worked for a commercial bank and a financial planning firm in California.
Originally from northern California, Joyce earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
Joyce and her husband are the parents of three sons.
Mary Kay Beaudoin
Mary Kay Beaudoin joined Cedar Mountain in 2010. She is a Registered Office Assistant with Cedar Mountain Advisors. With years of experience working in the operations side of Cedar Mountain’s business, she provides clerical and trade support for both the firm’s Managing Partners and its Financial Advisors.
Mary Kay’s previous positions include 7 years at Merrill Lynch and Law Firm File Clerk.
Mary Kay graduated from Gonzaga University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
Mary Kay and her husband, Joel, have raised three daughters.
Austin Ek
Austin Ek joined Cedar Mountain Advisors in 2019. He coordinates schedules and client meetings for multiple advisors in addition to assisting with client services and clerical duties.
Prior to joining the team, Austin received his Associates degree from Portland Community College and later attended Portland State University to study Applied Linguistics.
Austin and his family are lifelong Oregon residents with a century-old farm located in West Linn. He enjoys spending time with his family, writing, and studying foreign languages.
